Slowly, gently, blooms appear - dressed in hues multitude
Peppering the air with a scented aroma in the solitude,
Ripening buds, on each a dewdrop, the pearl jigs in bebop!
With the sun's rays, in dance flowers and twigs are, a pop!
Without hype and hoopla nature gives us life, tickety-boo!
As I reached to pluck a rose, a spike pricked me, gawk!
I tried to axe her life to please my fiance without talk.
We reach flowers to claim their beauty in a story humbug!
But their spirit ravish and they mourn - bitten by human bug,
Without hype and hoopla nature gives us life, tickety-boo!
Some gardens are to sport their splendor in a regal way,
We cut their limbs, a dirge we sing them on an immoral day.
Reds, blues, violets and pinks with souls in the meadow;
Gee! Their beauty is to view, our duty is to let them grow.
Without hype and hoopla nature gives us life, tickety-boo!
