We want to stand with you
And make time standstill

We were there with you
Not quite knowing you but wanting to
We have a love affair with you
For all that you could mean
Inside you quell all notions of romance
It’s all about legislation, regulations, politicians
It’s all about debates, deficits, debts and deployment
Your benches are making history
Whilst you stand proud on the river, historical
A benchmark for other aspiring landmarks
You’re shaping our futures
It’s you that is watching over us all.
