Bradley Flowers - Where The Love Is

2014-11-10 4

I dropp to my knees, born and left alone
Dropped at the curb and walked away from
Riddled with cancer and soon to be gone.

My heart speaks about love; it feels the warmth of it,
Like it’s held it close, yet I’ve never felt it
So I wonder how my heart knows.

How it feels something never held
Why it shares with me kindness and care
While it beats affection through my canvas

It tells everything but I’m often blind.
Hard to read the lines in the EKG
Where did it learn and embrace such things?

Its wisdom gathered from the lord they say,
Cherished by the father who never leaves.
Who will hold you close in your final days.

And my conscience still breaks chains
I feel the beating affection through my heart
Where I’m told he truly speaks his love.
