The will to live will meet its end,
Hello Darkness, my old friend,
I meet and greet you, once again,
My lurking sadness, you will mend,
My sorrows, you will apprehend,
This happiness was all pretend,
And from the cross, I shall descend,
My putrid soul, you shall claim,
To douse inside your burning flame,
Those embers seem to call my name,
They melt away my icy shame,
Sweet Release, the target of my aim,
From life, this shallow, futile game,
And thus, my will shall surely bend,
My happiness again, at end,
Throw me in the lion's den,
Hello Darkness, my old friend.
