Alana Joy Bailey - Insecurity

2014-11-10 1

Jealously got the best of me
partied with her friend envy
I didn’t mean to be the enemy
my intention was justified by thoughts that breed

Insecurity shakes up my bones
Now I will not sit on the throne
Years it takes to repair thee open heart
As I squeal to the world to read
Stories of hurt and pain that angst has awaken
the eagle to fly free
Never let the emotions hold you back!

Riddled with guilt and stubbornness is unlike me
eating pizza at midnight deemed unhealthy
crying with red wine by my side
Who was this entity inside thee

Insecurity shakes up my bones
Now I will not sit on the throne
Years it takes to repair thee open heart
As I squeal to the world to read
Stories of hurt and pain that angst has awaken
the eagle to fly free
Never let the emotions hold you back!

Dodging it
Gotta stop it
Weaving through the lines of disappointment
Sewing my soul to the curb of the unfinished prism

I may of found hell for the very first time of my life
thrown from side to side like the rock of a desire
thrash it tainted love has made it’s demands
I have to fight it or there will be no end
to fix the problems one has to look beyond the grass greener on the other side

Insecurity shakes up my bones
Now I will not sit on the throne
Years it takes to repair thee open heart
As I squeal to the world to read
Stories of hurt and pain that angst has awaken
the eagle to fly free
Never let the emotions hold you back!
