A girl passed a note to the boy she fell for
This note read ten fateful words
'Meet me by the river if you love me too'
He nodded and looked away
So later that day
She stood by the river
Waiting for the one she loved
Hours passed, still waiting, waiting
The sky began to darken
She knew he wasn't coming
Rain fell and covered her tears
And suddenly a shadow appeared
She smiled, he was there
And she reached out to grab his hand
He turned away
She was confused
He came, He loved her
She whispered his name
Then he spoke
A single breaking word
'No.'
She zoned out and fell to the ground
Her tired body rolled into the river
But she was gone before she could drown
She died that night
Died of a broken heart.
A boy cried that night
Because the words he told her were a lie
He didn't want her to die.
He loved her just as much
But if his friends found out
The wouldv'e laughed
And he couldn't have taken that.
But now, after so long a time
He realizes his mistake
And gets a tattoo
Of the girls full name over his heart
Before throwing himself into the river
Because she meant so much to him.
