Brandon Owens - Promises

2014-11-10 3

Death is the final release
Death is ecstasy
If I could die just once more
Between the thighs
Of that lovely whore
And not have to pay the fee
So dearly she took my heart
Until death do we part
Promises promises
Made with such disregard
Promises Promises
You can't hold them in your arms

I was in you, fire blazing
Cold calming rising sea
Right between your knees
It's just you and me
Finally free in death
Feeling out of breath
It was just your first time dying
You laid in my arms crying
Afterward we talked
I said I'd always be with you
But I can't walk the walk
Promises Promises
Made without care
Promises Promises
Empty as the Air

I went away to distant places, out to see the world
I left you by yourself, sitting all alone
You felt the chill of it, deep in your bones
You were just a small girl, you needed to get warm
So you died with him, you died with them
You couldn't wait for me to get home
You lied to me, died with me
When we were on the phone
I am just man who ended up broken
All these promises forgotten
And now I die alone
Promises Promises
You will never keep
Promises Promises
Love for Annie is bleak
