Caitlin Hancock - The Rise and Fall of Caitlin Hancock

2014-11-10 0

I have no memories of the beginning of me
The next years of my life were short and to a tee
Life as a teen was a rollercoaster of emotions, most often glee
And soon after that, I became no longer an “I” but a “we”
I grew old fast with arthritis in my hands and knees
But the day of my death was calm, like a gentle springtime’s breeze
Loved ones came, to mourn the last of me
And now my tombstone is surrounded by grass and ivy
At last I’m done with this life and finally free
Just me and Jesus, for all eternity
