So why test my forbearance, when I need not any,
Not I!
O silly, naïve, wavering, doubting Protector!
Test me, You test Yourself!
For I am armed with Your better gifts,
And You!
With faith, love and a will not to hold on,
For if I don’t, You will!
That which I let go for You,
You will hold on for me!
Therefore, I let go of myself,
So You will keep me together,
And hold on to me for me!
