Is there anything worse
Than a snaggle-toothed cougar -
One who is old,
And past her prime?
One who, though she remembers
The game, the chase,
Can now only purr,
And ruffle her fur?
One who uses her eyes,
Though she can no longer see,
To peer at her prey,
Hoping to sense a response?
Her ears perk up
When she hears
The sound of his roar,
But without her abilities...
She just can't seem
To find decent prey
To fulfill her needs
Anymore! !
