a day spent assiduously
avoiding events ordained
in a bigger universe than
this tiddly one seems
but like an accomplished
gymnast I manage to do
handstands on one arm
while clutching the means
to remain upright –
if you could imagine
cleaning your glasses
with a single hand you’ll
be close to what
I mean;
and if you can –
and be entertaining
– you’re the perfect
accomplice
