Simone Inez Harriman - Buried Alive

2014-11-10 2

I’m fenced in
Emaciated farm backbones
Shorn by greedy sheep
They cling sucking
Milked wintered breasts
Where soured dreams regurgitate
In endless shearing, drenching and dipping
Along with the infertile barrenness
That claimed my stillborn son
I stand here drowning
Swallowed by the nothingness
Buried alive
Smothered with dung
Embalmed with flies
With dust clogged lungs
My heart beats gravely
