Our hard words
knocked over
the sugar lumps
tumbling them
onto the formica
like dice
as if we gambled
with our love
the spilt tea
seemingly
slowly eating
each lump
devouring our sweetness
like a cancer
dissolving our world.
I asked you again.
You wouldn't answer.
