David Harris - Melting Winds

2014-11-10 1

The melting winds of tomorrow
are dissolving my dreams today.
The aspirations that I reached for
are crumbling in my hand.
Soon there will be purple nothingness
where my dreams used to be.
The more I try to grasp them
the more the images waste away.
Soon I’ll have nothing inside the silken purse
just vacant ashes where my dreams used to be.
How could this happen?
How could my world go this wrong?
What made the melting winds of tomorrow
want to take all this away from me?
Maybe when tomorrow comes
it will tell me the answers I seek.
Until then I’ll have to wait
while the melting winds of tomorrow
finally close my day today.
