David Harris - Halloween Quartet No 3 The Witches House

2014-11-10 2

The broom danced around the room
pushed by unseen hands.
I stood there hypnotised,
and then came the crackling laughter
that echoed in my ears
and seem to come from everywhere.
It stopped and a voice shouted
if you know what’s good for you
you’ll get out of here.
The laughter returned closer than before.
My heart thumped loudly
as I groped in the darkness searching for the door
through spider’s webs and endoplasmic goo
I grasped the handle,
opened it and into the night ran.
Promising myself every step of the way
never to go back there again.
