David Harris - As The Day Was Passing

2014-11-10 1

The waves lapped gently to the shore
as a flotilla of sailboats rested
in corridors on the water
with their white sails stained crimson
by the setting sun
an evocative silence cloaked each and every one
as they nudged against their mooring
to each gentle wave that passed by.
A tourniquet of lovers
stood watching by the shore
as the day was passing
to be with us no more.
