Naseer Ahmed Nasir - Haikus (The Women)

2014-11-10 3

The green paddy fields,
In the hearts of eves
Are divine secrets.

********

In the fields of saffron,
The laboring women
How pale and consumptive look.

********

Why does the decaying belle
Bring a garland
Needling fresh flowers?

********

In the dreadful jungle of the night,
A frail, thin line of the light
Or smiles of jet black women.

********

On the sand of the shore,
Basking in the sun
There are dreamy and drowsy belles.
