Little Jack Sheppard
handsome, witty & a bit of a charmer.
Not the most
successful highway man
known to man.
However to make up for this...defect
he’s an expert
at getting out of jail.
Seems to have a monopoly on it.
Small and wiry
slipping through the bars.
Aided & abetted
by Edgworth Bess
& Poll Maggot
(both equally besotted)
he escapes from
Newgate prison.
But by 22
he’s over the hill
dancing
dancing on air
the wind in his hair
courtesy of a hempen rope.
All good things coming...as they do...to an end.
Death(that highway man)
ordering him to stand & deliver.
The money of his life.
