Pint taken.
We sip
at our conversation.
Drinking in the view
caught up in the ebb & flow
of words
washed up on each other’s shore
all seaweed
& shells
the shrieking gulls of our laughter.
You now sporting
a froth moustache
chuckling as I kiss
& tickling lick it off.
Stories stretching time
beyond its limits
so that an hour
seems seven seconds.
each glass
a clock
leaving a delicate
fretwork
of latticed lace
to create ever
changing shapes
in the wash & wrack
of our drinking.
Between
each
sip
a kiss.
Drunk now
with the knowledge
Love is
good
for
you.
