SUNBATHING
White cloud’s hand turning
tipping over sky blue bowl,
sun pours out on us
Barbecue ribs, browning flesh –
we taste salt and relish.
SUMMERTIME BLUES
Blue sky, blue orchids,
blue leaves, blue lavender
blue deckchair, blue eyes
Blue shadows on sunny path,
all blue today but not us
THYME
“It is thyme, ” she said
“Time for what? ” he questioned
chopping herbs. “Dinner”
Barbecue – lives spiced with love
they’ve all the time in the world.
