The anticipation was killing me.
I was pacing around outside
like an agitated lion waiting.
I had spoken to her an hour before
and as yet we had to meet.
I went back inside the hotel
watching every car that pulled in.
A blue van pulled in and she got out.
My eyes followed her as she walked to the door.
I stood as she entered.
Her smile radiated the lobby.
We did not need words
we knew who each other was.
We hugged,
and then we talked and talked
until my wife came back
and the introductions began again.
