I'm Just An Old Fashioned Girl
by Barbara Lynn Terry
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who cooks from fresh produce
and the reddest meats.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
that is in bed by ten and up
with crowing rooster.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who holds hands only when she
is at the movies with a boy.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who sews and mends her
own worn out and torn clothes.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who believes in a courtship
before one kiss is shared.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
that loves to dreamily walk
along the river in a daze of love.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
that loves the wind in her hair
and the birds and the trees.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who believes that work makes
makes a body strong.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who believes that faith in God
makes for a strong soul.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who sits and watches the sunset
and the pretty hues it makes.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who marvels at the sight of
a beautiful butterfly.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who dreams of a husband,
family and little white cottage.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who dreams of whimsical things
that will never be.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
who can see the light of
the modern world around her.
I'm just an old fashioned girl
wishing that times were simpler
again like they used to be.
