are you a stalker god, wielding a lightning bolt dagger?
because i keep looking over my shoulder
constantly fearing your punishment
are you an absent father,
and earth our bitter mother?
because these billions of beautiful people
are so lonely
are you blind justice
that can be easily appeased
by a balanced scale of good and evil?
are you a dream
an opiate, to assuage my fears
a puppet master
an uptight debt collector
or are you what they say you are
everything i've always wanted and infinitely more?
are you the one who will write us a happy ending?
