There were times
lying in bed with my ex
in our first months
when I was so happy
I almost felt guilty
about being so much happier
than almost everyone I knew
and I suppose I assumed
my ex
was that happy, too.
But I probably should have taken
a closer look
at her
because that
did not turn out to be
the case.
