You stood there,
Hands thrust deep in pockets
Not trusting yourself in case...
You stood there,
Trying to maintain some self control
But I could see your inward struggle.
You stood there,
Looking deep into my eyes
Challenging,
What was staring you in the face...
You stood there still,
Eyes downcast as were your defenses...
While you stood there you were Unconsciously showing me
How vulnerable you really are...
Behind the mask you wear
With all pretence you share
Is a man slowly dying of fear...
Scared of being released from within
The walls you build around yourself.
