Hide the sad smile
Show the world a lie
It’s you that he wants
When questioned, denied
The lust that he feels
Kept hidden inside
A soul mate in time
Two wishes reside
Her feelings concealed
Truth buried so deep
To no one revealed
Alone she does weep
And long for the day
Together they sneak
And fulfill her dream
A true lover’s leap
All alone with himself
Heavy-hearted he sits
Dreaming and longing
In a world of what-if
He stares from a distance
The secret he keeps
Thoughts and desires
Safe when he sleeps
So reserved and so proper
She longs to be free
The ties and constraints
Familial responsibility
Of class and of station
And damn high society
To just cast it aside
Oh how sweet it would be
