hasmukh amathalal - I was deeply hurt

2014-11-08 6

Why people all the time need praise?
Is it inherent which makes their head to raise?
Does that step seem to be wise?
Who has it all for surprise?

Not affecting me as an individual,
For pretenders who use the life dual,
Try to project wise and create visual,
In reality, they lead life very casual,

I am, sometimes, very deeply hurt,
Not by their intelligence but reply curt,
I was visibly moved and felt embraced,
My respect and words completely silenced

At any given time poet’s get fame,
Without HIS grace they were lame,
Someone may succeed and some fail in game,
It may be destiny so as not to blame,

I being novice tried at poetry,
Made hard way to gain entry,
Found long queues guarded by sentry,
Some found success others felt jittery,

I pushed my way and got some hold,
Response from seniors was very cold,
Think them all as if descended from heaven
Not matching caliber and find uneven,

I felt hurt at compliment “very: sad”
Colleague was hurt at rated not high,
YOU KNOW it has place among 500,
May be that went down with my rating,

Does the pride do us any harm?
Prevent us to look kind and warm,
Does this enhance any prestige or charm?
With equal treatment and same care,
Do you take more yields from a house farm?
