ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Blossom Sky

2014-11-08 4

I look upon the blossom sky
Like spring afar the colours shine,
Above the darkened summits
Of this wild and rugged land,
The hush of dawn yields silence here
But for the breathless breeze that blows,
Across the far and distant hills
Which in their greatness stand.

The sweeping slopes of valleys steep
Now catch the beams of sunlight there,
As they asorb the amber rays
They glow like burnished gold,
As shadows lift upon the ground
Sweet music flows within the air,
As birds now sing with joyful cheer
To melt the morning's cold.

While heather flows across the heath
Their flowers blending into one,
Where violet sprigs and yellow gorse
Adorn the grassy shawl,
And as the carmine clouds do pass
Which pale as they so gently drift,
I look unto the blossom sky
And watch the petals fall.
