Leslie Alexis - His Grace Is Sufficient for me

2014-11-08 15

I've fallen from faith's light.
I slipped out of God's sight.
Me, once a gospel defender.
I can't but now be a pretender.

I'm subject to it all.
Like you, I too can fall.
Desire often takes hold of me.
Chained to it, I can't break free.

Free of the wants
The flesh that taunts
Me: to look, to taste! to touch!
My seat has gone to waste.

I bring tears to the eyes
of him who first loved me.
And away from him, my fears
Manifest, even as I give-in to lust.

This flesh of mine, it is strong
and with my weak will: I do wrong.
So in time, not too long,
My word may no longer be bond

My name in the book
Might be erased
And I may die,
When I leave this place...
--
But I would not die
Because of God's Grace
I know that I will see his face.
In Jesus' name, amen.
