(For C)
I love you more than I did yesterday,
But less than I will tomorrow.
Each day that passes brings with it
Thoughts of you, touched by shadow.
All that you are, all that you mean to me,
I possess within these days.
A flame as bright as topaz
Sears within us, burns always.
When, silently, the soft night comes
The lazy Earth turns on its wheel,
Then my love for you takes soaring flight.
Deep within my soul, I feel
A longing I have never known before,
Which, for no other, will come again.
Forever when my love-light finds you,
Your heart calls back, haunting refrain.
In the beating wings of yesterday,
I hear your songs of future love.
Laughing, I’m drawn to your music,
Your timeless harp singing above.
When the coming day draws near,
My endless love for you waxes high.
Trailing forever its star-lit journey,
Across the velvet blanket of our sky.
Then as my love grows stronger still,
I know my heart is sure,
Today's passion sings to us,
But tomorrow, I will love you more.
