Stephanie Dower - Halloween Night

2014-11-08 4

The moon looms above in a shroud of cloud.
Amber lights flicker in the gloom.
Faces emerge from the darkness.
A wolf howls and a witch rides her broom.
Bats screech above the wandering souls.
Candle flames dance with the dead.
The starry sky whispers above.
As the living sleep on in bed.
Ghouls prowl and spread mischief.
Fiendish phantoms play among the graves.
Autumn leaves surround the pumpkins.
As skulls stare with eyes like caves.
Be wary traveler if you walk this night.
You may meet a spirit or two.
So leave a treat at your door.
And they shall be kind to you.
