David Threadgold www.davidthreadgold.com - .5. A Life Fulfilled

2014-11-08 0

Crystal waters flowing fast
Where salmon wait to leap
Clear as glass I see the rocks
With weeds that sway down deep

The waterfall that blocks their way
To where they’re lives begun
Seen by their parent’s just last year
Now offspring have to run

Streamline bodies eye the falls
In foam to wait a time
Then each in turn dash forward
Before they start to climb

What a task how could it be
Up falls of such a length
Would all the salmon make the top?
That needed super strength

Of course they had no option
Life’s passage they are willed
Beyond the falls and not before
Each salmon’s life’s fulfilled
