Ananda Alves - Temptation

2014-11-08 5

He gets out of the couch
Stretches a little bit
Takes a look around
No lights, no sounds

'Hey, I know you want me'
He pretends not to be listening
And then he grabs a magazine
Deep breath to concentrate

'Don't deny me, come to me'
This whisper disturbs him clearly
Reading is put aside abruptly
He must get over it

'I need you to taste me'
He's trembling like a leaf
Refusing temptation is hard
But surrender would tear him apart

'You can trust me'
He knew he could
But who said he would
This is a new life proof

'You've always opened yourself to me'
In fact he always did
It was his shelter for many years
But that passion he must resist

Suddenly tears ran down his face
He's feeling dizzy, a need to scream
He feels average in his miserable life
He turns his head and his piercing eyes

'Who do you think you are?
You're not my lover,
You're not my wife!
You're just one more bottle
Full of promises and lies
You won't take me anywhere
Because of you, now, this body dies...'
