It was when she first felt that maybe he
no longer loved her the way she wanted,
that she stopped loving him the way she had.
He had no idea that things had changed between them
only barely noticing anything was wrong at all;
buying her some chocolates and lovely flowers,
hoping any problems could thereby be resolved.
He whispered in her anxious ear
sweet nothings like…
I love you more than life itself…
but that’s not what she heard
as she turned
and fired six times into his unprotected chest
in a desperate attempt to kill her feelings
and absolve herself of any guilt....
