I broke down in tears
When I told you my fears
You patted my back
Then left me to pick up the slack
I kept waiting thinking you’d turn around
But you were gone without a sound
It wasn’t easy to say in the least
For my heart was broken and I had to pick up each piece
How could I ever have thought you cared
If I’d known my heart would have been spared
