Do you know how important you are in my eyes?
You give me the strength each morning to rise
I didn't know you could love a child so much
Till I gave birth to you and felt your gentle touch
Through the years I've watched you grow into a fine young man
With a gentle heart full of love and a helping hand
Forgive me for the times that I've made you cry
I should have seen your pain, I didn't, I don't know why
Sometimes I think you grew up faster than me
But I did something right, for in the way you live, I can see
I pray that GOD blesses you with the best that life has to give
You deserve nothing less for the wonderful person you've become
It fills my heart with joy to hear you laugh and pray
There's so much more to tell you, I just don't know how to say
My precious son I love you more than you'll ever know
I hope that through my actions, somehow it really does show
