Christine Austin Cole - Resolution

2014-11-08 7

We will not run when it comes calling
We will not cower, we will not fear
We will stand there firmly in our place
Resolute and quite sincere
We’ll not avoid it but can deny it
We’ve seen it coming but it’s still blind
It knows our individual weaknesses
But not our might, combined

We'll drive it out, before it gets us
We'll tear it down just as it rises
We will strip it of all its power
And we'll steal all its surprises
We'll turn its mountains into ant hills
We'll change its walls into facades
And when it throws its thunder at us
We'll be hurling lightning rods

We’ll watch it falter, disillusioned
We’ll feel its strength come leaking out
We will revel in our confidence
And let it suffer then, in doubt
We'll raise our voices with conviction
State the given, evoke its name
And without an ounce of hesitation
We'll tell it - this, it cannot change
