... ... ...IN MY MIND
What good is served by thought tonight,
there is no way with words to write,
the vague uncertain feelings,
in my Mind.
Strange shadows dance in clouds of grey,
I cannot see or find my way,
to formless shapes that beckon,
in my Mind.
My probing thoughts cannot explain,
the absence of expected pain,
yet shapeless forms continue,
in my Mind.
Tantalizing feelings rise,
dimming thoughts that might be wise,
I see your lips before me,
in my MIND.
Soft swirling mist encircles you,
a lovely vision still in view,
your outstretched hand is reaching,
in my MIND.
Though running at a fearful pace,
I am yet standing still in space,
surrounded by the shadows,
in my Mind.
Each time I reach and almost touch,
the gentle hand I love so much,
shifting clouds obscure the view,
in my Mind.
There is for me a message there,
of unknown value, so I stare
at foreboding forms and shapes,
in my Mind.
I feel your love becoming free,
and struggling ‘thru the clouds I see
your arms outstretched to greet me,
in my Mind.
And yet each time your lips brush mine,
tormented clouds replace the wine,
of promised love between us,
in my Mind.
Thus even in my Mind it seems,
there is no way to fulfill dreams
that I have chased forever …
in my LIFE!
