Love can bring you pleasure
But can also bring you pain,
For skies of blue and sunlight
Can so quickly change to rain,
Yet love can bridge the water
And can touch each lonely heart,
Then bring you back together
When you'd drifted far apart.
Love can paint a picture
Make the sweetest melody,
Can fill your life with happiness
And end all misery,
For love can make the flowers bloom
And shine in colours bright,
Can come within the daytime
Or amidst a starry night.
Love is a gift to treasure
For it doesn't come to all,
As some will never find it
And like leaves their dreams shall fall,
Then rest upon the autumn ground
Where they will wither dry,
For them the spring shall never come
For love has passed them by.
