Every year we celebrate
the birth of our lives,
but as we get older
we start counting back the years.
When we have reached, twenty-one
we want it to remain
for the rest of our lives.
However, today is someone’s birthday
and only a tad older than twenty-one.
She has good reason to celebrate
with world in the palm of her hand.
She is bubbling with love,
a romance going strong.
Her life is on the up.
Today she will wake up
with love filling her eyes.
A new dawning year
with what surprises lie ahead for her.
I can only hope
there are many good ones there,
for Tara it is your birthday today.
May I say Happy Birthday,
hoping there are may more happy ones to come.
