Viola Grey - Dream

2014-11-08 2

Hands drip, cold,
fevered claws cling
to neverending visages
of tormented rest.
Rain pounds drumbeats, joyous,
like punks sneering hearts
too alive to care
for simple slumber.
Tears of misread regret,
long since dried,
now vanish, vanquished
to forgotten fears.
I smile,
I'm alive.
In the night I hear
chances for redemption,
to sleep beyond forever.
The rush of love's nightmares
gently awakening tomorrow
written in your eyes.
Lillies within
my hearts dark garden
softly raise their faces
towards an amber moon.
I'm walking these hills
alive inside the night,
alone - not lonely
ready - not waiting.
Towards your path I'm drawn
step by stride,
my pace my own,
my heart in time with yours.
Sunlight - my tormentor-
breaks dreams hearts,
nothing lasts forever,
but soon - night will return.
