Cathleen Hodgkinson - May I Still Miss You?

2014-11-08 3

May I still miss you....even now...once in a while?
I promise that you'd never know.
I vowed my silence to you...forced to let you go.
My efforts of intentions sent.
My pleas of authenticity ignored.
It was easier for you to disdain me.
The one true thing...perhaps you were too afraid to know.
As all lost time has turned into memory.
So fast the lone hours fly by.
The world, our lives, the universe, the seasons ever changing.
Each day has taken me farther away from where you are.
I live my life as expected, I still live life from my heart.
When a reminder of you suddenly takes my breath...sadly,
To fathom I'll never see you again, for there is no someday, no hope.
In the secrecy of another tear shed.
It was all in the way you held me close.
May I still miss you...even now...once in a while?
I promise that you'd never know.
