As I slip into bed the cool sheets comfort me,
I close my eyes and relief floods me,
Then;
The nightmares flood in.
Snap shots consume my mind:
You kissing away my tears,
You making me smile,
You pushing me on a swing,
You picking me up after i fell down,
A walk in the park,
You comforting me,
You and me laughing,
You and me holding hands,
Your lips on mine,
Your hands tangled in my hair,
Your mouth tickling my ear,
Whispering feverishly into it,
Telling me you'll always be there.
Everynight the the nightmares are back,
The lies you told,
The pain you caused,
The heart you took from me but never gave back,
The tears you made me shed,
Untill I was empty and exhausted.
But I'm tired of the times I have to change the station,
Because your song came on,
I'm tired of the sleepless nights,
A tell tale sign that you weren't really gone,
I'm too beat up to take anymore,
So,
I'm not.
I'm not gonna cry over you anymore,
I'm not gonna give you contol,
I'm not gonna let anyone
Have the power over me you had.
I'm gonna start my own story,
A whole new beginning,
Were I contol how I feel,
And no one tries to change me,
Mold me into what they want,
Trying to make me into their dream,
When they know that I'm not.
But somwhere in my book,
There might be a boy,
One that treats me nice,
One that doesn't lie,
One that thinks I'm cute, not hot,
One that loves me for who I am.
I don't know exactly what will happen,
But one thing I do know is,
I'm not gonna let you win.
