You may as well be happy and laugh your cares away
For tears won't get you anywhere as some are known to say
Few wish to hear your stories if they seem a bit sad
They say we have our own problems the good goes with the bad.
Happiness is like a magnet it draws others to you
And that a smile doesn't cost you anything only happens to be true
The grumpy one does not have many friends few wish to put up with his sullen mood
They see him as offputting and they leave him there to brood
A smile doesn't cost you anything though some find it hard to smile
To show their teeth in a friendly way to some seems like hard toil
The weight of the World rests on their shoulders or so it would appear
Though their poor me sob stories few seem to wish to hear.
You laugh the World laughs with you those words appeal to me
Of the ghosts of their depression some struggle to be free
And those who can smile easily they spread the gift of joy
And why others are attracted to them you know the reason why
