Step lightly,
For the ground is tender,
Soft with moisture
From the dew.
Listen gently,
For the air is bemusing
With the lilting songs
Of new-born baby birds.
Feel carefully,
For your arms will respond
To the gentle carress
Of the springtime breeze.
Touch so very gently,
For the newborn blooms
Are fragile yet,
Only just having been born.
Walk with the lightest step,
Listen for the most gentle sounds,
Touch with a delicate hand,
For Ireland is a soft flower.
