I put out a dusty old box
Filled with memories of years bygone
Then I remember one magical story
Which was to last an eternity.
I'd always seen them way back then
Found them really fascinating.
Always together but without a belief
That they'd be linked by destiny.
I got exasperated with both of them
Insisting they were just friends.
So I decided to let this end
'Cause they're meant to be more than friends.
I made up an excuse
Set them up with a ruse
That they had secret admirers
Not knowing they were each other.
Anonymously the sparks flew
And I knew exactly what to do.
Revealed to them about each other
And they laughed together.
With each other they were perfectly happy
At my scheme with destiny i was pleased.
I didn't make that work of art
It was there, right from the start.
Now the flashback's done, I hide the box
Seeing it was half past ten on my clock.
I dress in pink and fix myself
'Cause I've got a wedding to attend.
