Ted Sheridan - The More We Learn The Less We Know For Sure

2014-11-07 46

It has taken a long time to learn that I’ve learned absolutely nothing
My empty brain, my evacuated heart and my abandoned arms
Exhibitions all,
Of my now deficient and completely inaccessible attention to detail
Thinking only of myself
I have lost everything that I had worked so hard to gain
Empty of meaning, devoid of value and bankrupted intellectually
I struggled to maintain my all too fragile ego
Above a grade of zero
For in the end …when ones glass should be filled to the lip with meaning
Mine is as empty as the bottle of cheap booze
That is resting in my deflated lap of luxury
While a flat screen high definition television nukes my paltry brain
Rendering me as void of plea as the cockroaches
Who steal my last thoughts of you…
