Time waits for no one
As well I do know,
Things come between us
And then the years go,
Watching and waiting
It will never be,
As stones on the shoreline
Are lost to the sea.
Rain clouds are weeping
And lost in their rhymes,
Hearts have been broken
Far too many times,
Moving emotions
And tears flowing free,
As stones on the shoreline
Are lost to the sea.
Waves are now breaking
And there is no end,
My dreams have been shattered
And they will not mend,
Rising and falling
And hidden from me,
As stones on the shoreline
Are lost to the sea.
Out on the ocean
That's so clear and blue,
My spirit is sinking
And fading from view,
I'm all alone now
With my misery,
As stones on the shoreline
Are lost to the sea.
