Dee Shaffer - Invisible

2014-11-07 2

I slip through each crowd
Silent, unadorned, and plain
Nothing stands out; nothing is special
You wont hear me speak, or
Notice my presence beside you
When I am gone will my departure even register?
I already know the answer..
When you go away they notice,
When you die they finally mourn.
If they only knew I was aleady gone
If they knew I was dead already.
My heart died years ago,
But they don't even care
I close my eyes and sleep
Never to wake, the morning is no redemption
I try to break free from this world,
There is no freedom in my emptiness
I want to leave, but no door is open
I just want to be free.
