Dónall Dempsey - WHEN YOU ARE NOT THE HERO BUT JUST A WALK ON EXTRA BIT-PART PLAYER IN YOUR OWN LIFE

2014-11-07 3

You were a Princess
...a real life fairytale.

You only demanded
the ordinary things

a heroine in your position
would ask for.

So I slayed your dragons
cut through bewitched
tangles of thorns

& kissed you awake.

You realised I was not
a handsome Prince

But some old slob
willing to do the job.

“Eh...that’s great”

you kindly said.

“Now...kill yourself.”

And foolishly

...I obeyed.
